Marine Engineering Unlimited Qualifications 

Course: Engineering Officer of the Watch (Unlimited)

Duration: 16 Weeks: 2026 Dates: (19th January to 8th May), (1st June to 18th September)

Course Overview: The Engineering Officer of the Watch (Unlimited) course is a SAMSA requirement for all Marine Engineering Officers, to be able to sit the level III assessment. The course has been developed to meet the requirements of the SAMSA STA – focusing all aspects of marine engineering at the operational level. Candidates are required to meet the SAMSA mandated outcomes (of 60%) from written assessments.

Course: Chief Engineering Officer (Unlimited)

Duration: 16 Weeks: 2026 Dates (19th January to 8th May), (1st June to 18th September)

Course Overview: The Chief Engineering Officer (Unlimited) course is a SAMSA requirement for all Marine Engineering Officers, to be able to sit the level III assessment at the management level of 2nd and Chief Engineer. The course has been developed to meet the requirements of the SAMSA STA – focusing all aspects of marine engineering at the management level. Candidates are required to meet the SAMSA mandated outcomes (of 60%) from written assessments.
