Description: The MARPOL Convention Course has been designed to assist participants with a thorough knowledge of the requirements under the MARPOL convention for protection of the marine environment. Candidates will have an awareness of what is expected of seagoing personnel in terms of the legislation pertaining to the Southern African Special area, and the areas of interest under the IMO convention.

Course Content: MARPOL Annexes, The SOPEP Plan, Marine Pollution Prevention Equipment, Marine Pollution Prevention Documentation, The Role of Flag State in Pollution Prevention

Description: The SOLAS Convention Course has been designed to assist participants with a thorough knowledge of the requirements under the SOLAS convention for safety of life at sea. Candidates will have an awareness of what is expected of seagoing personnel in terms of the legislation pertaining to the SOLAS convention as outlined by the IMO.

Course Content: SOLAS Convention Overview, Ship Construction, Fire, Life Saving Appliances, Navigation and Communications, Carriage of Goods.

Description: The Marine Environmental Awareness Course has been designed to follow up on the MARPOL Convention Course through looking at international treaties related to the prevention of marine pollution. Candidates will have an awareness of what is in terms of the legislation governed by the international treaties, and the areas of interest under the IMO convention.

Description: The Introduction to Maritime course is intended for all persons who are new to the maritime industry, who wish to gain maritime industry knowledge relevant to the sector in which they are working. The course focuses on providing maritime industry staff with an introductory knowledge of the shipping industry.
