High Voltage A-III/II (Management Level)

Description: The High Voltage Course is a SAMSA requirement for all Marine Engineering Officers, and Electrotechnical Officers. The course has been developed to meet the requirements of the SAMSA code – focusing primarily on safety and safety management.

Duration: 2 Days (3 Sessions)

Course Content: High Voltage Systems Onboard Ships, High Voltage System Components, High Voltage Supplies in Port, High Voltage Legislation (SA Ships), High Voltage Safety, Access Control High Voltage Safety Management, Required Permits & Documentation Control

Level III Oral Preparation (Engineers)

Level III Oral Preparation (Engineers)

Description: The Level III Assessment Course has been designed to assist candidates going for the level III (oral examination) assessment at SAMSA for the completion of the Certificate of Competency studies. A mock oral examination is conducted at the end of the course to determine the readiness of the individual candidates – with feedback given to the candidates

MARINE DIESEL ENGINES: FUEL INJECTION

Description: The Marine Diesel Engine: Fuel Injection course has been designed to assist candidates to have a working knowledge of Diesel Engines and fuel injection systems. This course is beneficial to anyone who works with Marine Diesel engines, wishing to gain hands-on experience. The course outcomes are to improve maintenance practices, decrease engine downtime and to minimise costs to company from expensive repairs.

MARINE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

Description: The Marine Environmental Awareness Course has been designed to follow up on the MARPOL Convention Course through looking at international treaties related to the prevention of marine pollution. Candidates will have an awareness of what is in terms of the legislation governed by the international treaties, and the areas of interest under the IMO convention.

Description: The MARPOL Convention Course has been designed to assist participants with a thorough knowledge of the requirements under the MARPOL convention for protection of the marine environment. Candidates will have an awareness of what is expected of seagoing personnel in terms of the legislation pertaining to the Southern African Special area, and the areas of interest under the IMO convention.
